SRC Reman – Remanufacturing Diesel Engines Like New
On this episode of Rottler Featured Series join us at SRC Reman in Springfield, Missouri.
For over 40 years SRC has built a brand renowned for its approach to OEM+ level quality for Diesel Engines. Working directly with OEM engine suppliers, they rebuild, improve, and reduce engine failure modes on engines of all types.
Talking to SRC Manufacturing Engineer Steve Rippee, we learned that remanufacturing tolerances are often tighter and harder to hit than those on a new engine. Because Rottler CNC machines are designed specifically for engine builders, SRC finds they can do things other machines wouldn’t let them do. That not only includes hitting those tighter tolerances every time, but doing non-standard repairs as well. Thanks to the CNC interpolation capabilities on their EM105H and F98, they’re able to do things like fix bolt holes and castings as well as front seal area repairs.
Cylinder and plateau honing are also big parts of SRC’s operation, so they also have a couple of Rottler hones, and H75 and an H85AX, working on their factory floor.
According to Steve, who’s been with SRC for 35 years, Rottler machines have been there the entire time. From bare blocks, to fuel injectors, SRC Heavy Duty is a premier player in the Diesel Engine Remanufacturing Space!
