High Performance Machining for High Performance Engines
“Good enough” has never been in the Rottler vocabulary since it started producing performance engine building machinery almost 80 years ago.
That’s why our equipment is the choice among leading engine builders in nearly every racing category.
From our multi-purpose automatic CNC machines to our boring bars, valve refacers and seat and guide machines, you’ll find equipment bearing the Rottler red and black working hard to produce more power for the leading names in engine innovation around the globe.
Unmatched Speed and Precision
Powered by the industry’s most advanced machining technology
There’s a reason the world’s leading performance engine developers and builders choose Rottler machining solutions.
Our innovative machine design, advanced tooling, and simple operation delivers the high quality, precision results demanding engine builders expect. And, they do it faster, more accurately, and with less maintenance with other solutions.
What’s more, because many Rottler solutions can perform multiple machining tasks on the same engine component, our performance engine builder customers enjoy easier machine setup, and work that’s finished as much as 80% faster than otherwise possible.
Simple Operation, Advanced Results
No computer wizardry or special tech skills required
If you’re in the business of building performance engines, you should be focused on building performance engines, not learning complicated computer technology.
Rottler’s simple touch screen technology and advanced CNC control software turns even the most complex of machining tasks into something no more complicated than using a smartphone. With just a little training, even a novice can master these machines in almost no time at all.
Better yet, once the machine has been given the task, it takes over, allowing the operator to go work on other things while it does the job. This “set it and forget it” technology is the reason many Rottler customers use a single operator to monitor multiple machines working on different tasks all at the same time.
Real ROI, Real Fast
An investment that begins paying for itself right away
One of the secrets to Rottler’s success can be summed up as “automate don’t populate.”
With our unique Automatic Cycle software, innovative machine design, and suite of tooling, one machinist can do what it would take three or four to do with non-Rottler equipment.
Our solutions offer quick setup, task completion that’s 2X to 3X faster, and the precision, accuracy, and ease of the industry’s most advanced CNC and machining technology. Best of all, Rottler solutions are low maintenance, and work unattended so that your operators are free to focus on other, more productive tasks.
In other words, work gets done faster, with better precision and higher performance — all without more people. Little wonder that so many smart performance engine builders are Rottler customers

EM69 Series — CNC Engine Machining Centers
Rottler’s EM69 CNC Machining Centers are the most technically advanced industry-specific CNC systems available. More than just a single machine, these Engine Machining CNC Vertical Machining Centers give customers unmatched flexibility for engine parts machining, digitizing and porting, as well as custom parts manufacturing, all in a powerful, easy-to-use integrated platform.
Models available include 4 axis with Automatic Tool Changer (EM69ATC) and high power 5 axis (EM69HP).
F Series — Boring and Sleeving Machines
Rottler’s F Series Boring and Sleeving machines are the industry standard worldwide. With long lasting cutting inserts and electronic control, whether it’s boring and sleeving, cylinder boring, or even custom parts manufacturing, and fitting odd sleeves, Rottler’s F series machines deliver fast, accurate machining like nothing else in the industry.
Available in electronic assisted (F9A), automatic (F10A), and high speed, automatic, programmable hole-to-hole (F10X) versions.
EM70 Series — Multi-purpose CNC Machining Centers
The EM70 series multi-purpose CNC engine machining centers are designed for small-to-mid-sized diesel engine rebuilding and remanufacturing. With a capacity large enough for dual workstations, the EM70s can work two jobs simultaneously. Special fixturing allows for quick loading and unloading as well as easy change over from V block to inline block configuration in just a few minutes.
With automatic 4th axis roll over, the machine can rotate the block 360° to allow special machining jobs in the same setup as standard operations such as boring and surfacing. Available in a standard configuration (EM79) as well as equipped with an automatic tool changer (EM79ATC) that requires no operator to switch the tooling.
H80 Series — Vertical Honing Machines
The Rottler H80 series is the world’s most advanced line of automatic CNC vertical cylinder hones. With advanced features like automatic lower crash protection, variable load control, precision stone feed out, and the industry’s most advanced cross hatch pattern control, the H80 family is the number one hone for performance engine builders around the world.
Available in standard configurations (H85A), as well as with X axis and XY axis hole-to-hole automation (H85AX, H85AXY and H87AXY), these hones offer fully unattended operation — just press “start” and walk away. The machine will take care of the rest on its own.
S80 Series — CNC Automatic Surfacing Machines
The Rottler S80 series machines combine cutting edge controls with proven traveling column machine tool, dry surfacing technology to deliver the world’s most advanced surfacing machines. The unique traveling column design proven for decades in our engine block machining centers reduces floor space requirements and improves precision in surface finish.
Available models include the S85A for shops that work on a wide variety of engines, and the S86A, a machine designed to handle large diesel blocks as well as smaller blocks.
SG Series — Cylinder Head Valve Seat & Guide Machines
The Rottler SG series is our family of seat & guide machines. With models ranging from the economical and easy-to-use, to extra large, heavy duty machines capable of guide-to-guide machining with extreme precision, there’s a machine for every shop and every seat & guide machining requirement.
Models include manualmatic with the patented UNIPILOT tooling system (SG9MTS), large capacity with the ACTIV spindle system (SG90MTS), heavy duty (SG90A), and fully programmable automatic valve guide-to-guide machining in both standard (SG10XY) and extra large capacity (SG100XY).
VR12 — Valve Refacing Machine
The Rottler VR12 valve refacing machine features a Centerless Grinding System capable of grinding a set of valves to exact same length without without changing collets or chucks, or adjusting settings. Precision drive rollers and low friction steady rest support rotate the valve stem similar to a precision balancing machine, resulting in extremely accurate valve stem to valve seat run out less than .0002″ (.005mm) TIR.
Additionally, the new design stroking handwheel, which moves the valve back and forth over the grinding wheel, will stay in position when the operator’s hand is removed, eliminating errors.
