For this episode of Rottler Featured Series, we’re in Bellingham, Washington at LKQ Remanufacturing, part of the LKQ Corporation family. LKQ is a global leader providing alternative aftermarket, specialty salvage and recycled auto parts and services to repair and accessorize vehicles.

Speaking with Production Manager, Anthony Coomes, we learned the suite of Rottler machines on his factory floor are key to reducing labor costs while improving quality and efficiency.

LKQ has a dozen of our systems in his operation running the gamut from valve refacers, surfacers and seat cutters, to our H85AXY hones, and the F69A multi-purpose CNC for boring and surfacing.

Coomes told us that he really likes his Rottler lineup because they’re easy to learn, accurate, and one person can run several machines simultaneously, which keeps his costs under control and ensures top notch work product.

For our part, we’re pleased to be working with LKQ because of their commitment to sustainability and practices that renew and extend the life of key automotive components, keeping them on the road and out of the landfill.

For this week’s episode of the Rottler Featured Series we traveled up to Viola, Wisconsin, home of one of America’s best V-Twin parts and engine builders, S&S Cycle.

There with get a tour of the facility from S&S’s Manufacturing Engineering Manager, Dennis Kramer, and get an insider’s look at the people and machines behind so many speed records on the salt flats and on the track.

S&S prides itself on building high horsepower engines that have the durability to live on the street as well as the track, and naturally they have Rottler equipment in the shop to help them do it. We’re proud to see the Rottler red and black stripes of our H85AXY automatic hone and SG10XY seat and guide machines in operation, helping the team at S&S Cycle develop the world’s best V-Twin engines.

Roush Yates-built Ford engines win the NASCAR Cup Series title three years in a row

We here at Rottler Manufacturing are pleased to share that Roush Yates Engines, a Rottler partner since 2012, has powered Team Penske and Joey Logano to win the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series Championship!

This win marks the first time that Ford has won the NASCAR Cup Series title three years in a row (Logano in 2022, Blaney in 2023, and Logano in 2024) and the first time that has been achieved by Team Penske. Logano is the first Ford driver to win at least three Cup Series championships and the 10th driver in NASCAR history, joining fellow three-time winners Tony Stewart, Cale Yarborough, Darrell Waltrip, David Pearson and Lee Petty; four-time champion Jeff Gordon; and seven-time titleholders Jimmie Johnson, Dale Earnhardt and Richard Petty.

As we celebrate this amazing achievement, we would like to thank Roush Yates Engines for allowing Rottler and our F69A automatic machining centers and H85AXY vertical honing machines to play a vital role in its success. Knowing that our equipment is a key part of every Ford NASCAR engine they build fills us with a sense of immense pride and accomplishment.

Roush Yates Engines – Rottler Manufacturing Partnership Announcement

For episode 15 of the Rottler Featured Series we went to Moorseville, NC to see our old friend (and NHRA legend) Pat Musi of Pat Musi Racing Engines.

Pat talked about his 50 years in racing, and the multiple championships his engines have won. These days Pat’s all about Nitrous Pro Mod and he’s proud to say that he has more than 180 of his engines around the world.

One of the other things Pat is proud of is his relationship with Rottler Manufacturing and how our expertise and equipment (especially the H85AXY hone) have been a game change for him and Pat Musi Racing Engines. (He even said “we don’t just talk a good game, we prove it!”)

We’re equally proud of Musi’s accomplishments and are pleased to have him as part of our engine builder innovation program!
